Stylus Tough 6020: New rugged camera from Olympus

Olympus is famous for their cameras and this time the manufacturer has something new to offer to us. New camera is intended for all of those who enjoy outdoor activities and need a camera that will work in extreme conditions.



Stylus Tough 6020 is rugged compact camera that is designed for extreme conditions. This camera is waterproof up to 16 feet, shockproof from 5 feet, dustproof and freeze proof to 14F, so you could say that this camera has solid durability. As for the hardware specs this camera has 14-megapixels CCD sensor with a 5X optical zoom and a LCD 2.7-inch display with sensor shift stabilization. When it comes to recording, Stylus Tough 6020 can record video at 1280 x 720 pixel resolution with sound using the MPEG-4 codec with the constant frame rate of 30 frames per second. Another interesting feature of this rugged camera is the Tap Control. Tap Control allows you to use certain camera functions simply by tapping the top or the side of the camera. This camera comes with 1 GB of storage space but only 632MB are usable, but that’s not the problem because you can expand the capacity by adding a SD/SDHC card. Additional features include HDMI output, USB port and a LI-50B lithium-ion battery that provides more than 240 shots per charge.
Olympus did an amazing job and  Stylus Tough 6020 camera is perfect for those who enjoy outdoor activities and for average users as well. This camera is available at Olympus retails for $299 a pop.
